Evergreen Mill Elementary School kindergartners have been hard at work this holiday season.
With some help from their teachers, they made fleece blankets for Mobile Hope, a Leesburg-based nonprofit that helps homeless and precariously housed youth in Loudoun County.
Each kindergarten class at the school made five blankets and, last week, they presented their handiwork to representatives from Mobile Hope.
Mobile Hope founder and CEO Donna Fortier told the students she was proud of them for serving as community helpers at such a young age.
“This will really mean a lot to the kids we help,” she said. “They’ll know that other kids in the community care about them.”
