Threat Forces Evacuation of Leesburg Chick-fil-A

There was a scare at the Chick-fil-A in Leesburg this morning when a man entered the restaurant and made threats to harm those inside.

According to Leesburg Police, the incident began at 10:21 a.m. The suspect ordered the restaurant employees to the rear of the building. A woman who was in the restaurant with her daughter said the man was yelling something, possibly in a language other than English, and waving his phone.

Customers were able to get out of the restaurant safely. A witness said a manager yelled at the customers to evacuate quickly.

Police officers arrived quickly and detained the suspect, a 25 year-old man. He was not armed and was taken to police headquarters to be interviewed

The restaurant has resumed normal operations.
