Washington Street Improvements Underway in Middleburg

A&M Concrete crews are installing a 12-inch waterline on Washington Street in Middleburg, representing the beginning of construction on the Rt. 50 Traffic Calming Project improvements in town.
The new waterline will stretch from The Plains Road to Jay Street. After the waterline is completed over the next month or so, the contractor will begin the installation of underground electrical conduit for new street lighting, according Town Administrator Martha Mason Semmes.
Weather permitting, crews will work through the winter to lay brick crosswalks, build curb extensions at each downtown intersection and install the streetlights.
