Earthquake Reported in Loudoun

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that an earthquake occurred in northwestern Loudoun County this afternoon.

The quake occurred at 2:12 p.m. and registered 3.0 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was identified in the Neersville area, 2.5 miles south southeast of Bolivar, WV.

The quake happened about 3.1 miles underground, according to the USGS.
