Blizzard Watch Issued for Loudoun

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for Loudoun County, in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday night.

Heavy snow and high winds are expected during this time. Snow accumulations of a foot or more of snow are in the forecast.

The storm will move into the region Friday afternoon, with the heaviest snow, highest winds and potentially life-threatening conditions expected Friday night through Saturday night. Visibility will be reduced to zero at times.

Residents are encouraged to plan for the care of family members and take precautions in the event of power outages.
