The Leesburg Police Department is investigating a domestic-related homicide that occurred early Monday morning at a Plaza Street apartment.
Just before 12:30 a.m., a woman ran into the lobby of the police headquarters and said there has been a stabbing. She led officers to a residence across the street where a man was found suffering from two stab wounds to his upper chest. Another man and woman were in the home.
Police said the two men, believed to be step-brothers, were involved in an altercation which led to the stabbing.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:52 a.m.
The investigation is continuing.
This is the first homicide in Leesburg in 2016 and the second domestic-related homicide in Loudoun County this year.
