A two-century-old home in Lincoln was severely damaged in a fire Monday night.
The fire was reported at 9:30 p.m. Crews from Purcellville, Hamilton, Round Hill, Philomont, Lovettsville, Brambleton, Leesburg and Loudoun Heights were dispatched to the home in the 18000 block of Lincoln Road.
The first firefighters to arrive on scene encountered active fire and smoke coming from both floors of the two-story, single family home. They could not safely operate inside and were limited to attacking the fire from the exterior.
According to Loudoun Fire-Rescue, the structure was built in the late 1700s to early 1800s which made accessing the fire more difficult for firefighters.
The residents were not home when the fire was reported, but arrived as crews were working.
The Fire Marshal’s Office was on the scene this morning conducting its investigation.
No injuries were reported.
