Town Seeks Input on Selection of Next Leesburg Police Chief

Leesburg residents and business owners are encouraged to participate in an online survey about the town police department and search for the next police chief.

The four-question survey about the recruitment of the new chief is on the new “Leesburg Listens” online forum at The survey will be open through Sunday, Feb. 21.

In addition to the survey, there will be two public input meetings on Wednesday, Feb.17, in Ida Lee Park Recreation Center’s lower level meeting room. They will begin at noon and at 7 p.m. The afternoon session will be focused on gathering feedback from businesses and the evening input session will be focused on gathering feedback from residents, although all are welcome to attend either session.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police is leading the candidate recruitment effort and representatives from the organization will lead the input sessions. They will use the information gathered from the online survey and the public meetings to develop a position profile for the recruitment process.
