Fire Danger Alert Issued in Loudoun

The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office ordered the suspension of all open burning through Monday, March 28.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning, to include Loudoun County because of an enhanced threat of wildfires caused by the combination of dry conditions, low humidity and winds.

“During these times extreme caution is urged by all residents, because a simple spark can cause a major fire incident,” Deputy Fire Chief Linda Hale stated.

The Loudoun County, Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management and the Virginia Department of Forestry will have additional staff ready to respond during the alert period.
