Nova Medical Joins Inova Medical Group

Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center has announced plans to join the Inova Medical Group, a division of the Inova Health System offering primary care and adult specialty services across the Washington, DC, region.

Dr. Grace Keenan, who founded Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center in 1988 and serves as its CEO, said the partnership will enhance the experience patients have come to expect. They will have access to a nationally recognized, comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient services and facilities,

primary and specialty care practices, and health and wellness initiatives.

Keenan and her team will join more than 400 experienced physicians specializing in primary care and adult specialty care services.

“The community will continue to see our team’s familiar, smiling faces and I will remain committed to ensuring that each patient receives quality care,” she stated in a press release announcing the partnership. “Nova’s integrative and specialty services—including those offered at The Medical Spa at Nova—will continue to be an integral part of our practice.”

With more than 80 practice locations throughout Virginia and Maryland, the Inova Medical Group is one of the region’s largest healthcare organizations. The physician-led group provides team-based care with an emphasis on wellness and population health management.

Nova Medical and Urgent Care Center’s offices in Ashburn, Sterling, Leesburg, and Gainesville are open daily, offering primary care, walk-in urgent care, and specialty integrative services for patients of all ages.

Nova will transition to the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system and MyChart Patient Portal, which is used by the Inova Health System. Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center will also expand its network of participating insurance carriers. As of this week, Nova will participate with InTotal Health. Virginia Medicaid will be accepted for urgent care and dermatology visits.

“Nova is committed to caring for the entire patient,” Keenan stated. “Many patients have benefited from our integrative modalities after failing to regain their health from mainstream medicine. Our holistic approach supports Inova’s three-pronged vision for 2020. I am excited to help the community receive an enhanced level of care in the outpatient care setting as the Inova Health System focuses their efforts on population health management, wellness and prevention, and an integrated care delivery system.”
