Janell Zurschmeide, owner of Dirt Farm Brewery near Bluemont, has been reelected to co-chair the Farm Brewery Committee of the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild.
Dirt Farm Brewery was one of the first breweries in Loudoun to open under the state definition for a farm brewery and expanded her family’s agri-tourism offerings that also include Bluemont Winery and Great Country Farms.
She shares chairwoman duties with Lisa Pumphrey of Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery in Goochland.
“Together, we foster the spirit of farm breweries and assist other craft brewers to develop model local land use/zoning regulations and community relations,” Zurschmeide stated. She said the committee also champions locally grown ingredients for Virginia’s craft beer industry.
