The Purcellville Memorial Day ceremony honoring fallen veterans will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Monday at the Town Hall, 221 S. Nursery Ave.
Brad Quin, president of the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and a Gold Star Father, be the featured speaker. Quin and his wife Betsy lost their son, Capt. Michael Quin, in 2012. The 28-year-old Marine Corps captain and Loudoun Valley High School graduate died in a military helicopter crash during a military training exercise near Yuma, AZ.
The memorial service will be held at the nearby Teardrop at the junction of Main and 20th streets. Families and American Legion Post 293 will join in the laying of wreaths.
Traffic at the teardrop intersection will be diverted from approximately 11:55 a.m. to 12:05 p.m.
