Fire extinguishers were stolen from buses at three Ashburn schools over the Memorial Day weekend, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Drivers returned to their buses to begin their work day Tuesday morning to find the doors had been damaged and a total of 13 fire extinguishers had been taken. The buses were parked at Briar Woods High School and Farmwell Station and Trailside middle schools.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Kraig Troxell said law enforcement is working closely with the school system’s security personnel to find the person, or persons, who stole the extinguishers.
“It’s hard to say whether it’s part of a prank or something of that nature,” he said.
