Americana Beer Fest to Bring 66 Breweries to Morven Park

Americana Beer Fest will come to Morven Park in Leesburg for the first time on Saturday, June 11, bringing together more than 66 breweries, nine food trucks, and fundraising for rehabilitation for combat veterans.

“It’s a very different festival,” said Kristi Geske, the event’s organizer. “People are saying it’s more like a music festival with great beer.”

The event will benefit Boulder Crest Retreat in Bluemont, the nation’s first privately funded rural wellness center exclusively treating combat veterans and their families.

“My family’s military, and it means a lot to me,” Geske said. She said when her company Hype Promotions and its nonprofit Brews for the Brave, which owns the event, were looking at nonprofits in Loudoun, Boulder Crest stood out.

“We went in there and we were just blown away by the different offerings, the therapeutic programming that they have, just every single person that works there, different things we’ve heard from folks that have stayed there,” Geske said.

Everything at Americana Beer Fest will be hand-built by volunteers, and Geske said although these events often don’t make a profit in their first year, Boulder Crest will still get a donation—including work by those same volunteers.

Festival visitors will enjoy unlimited sampling of more than 180 craft beers, a craft soda garden, a comedy stage, and live music from Trampled by Turtles, Wild Child, Possessed by Paul James, Roosterfoot, People’s Blues of Richmond, and The Mobros.

Geske’s company, Hype Promotions, also recently took over managing Epicurience Virginia, moving that event from Morven Park to One Loudoun.

General admission tickets are $45 in advance and include access to the Game Zone for Grown Folks, the comedy stage, the BrewU Craft Beer Education Stage, music, the food truck rally, and the artisan market, as well as unlimited sampling in the craft soda garden and beer tasting tents. VIP tickets are $100 in advance and include one-hour early access, a festival swag bag, private climate-controlled restrooms, meal service, and specialty cask tastings in the VIP lounge.

Even if you can’t attend this event, please consider offering your support to Morven Park, and our Loudoun History, as just a few years ago I thought the complex was destined for failure. They seemed to reconsolidate, and changed their mission to better serve the Leesburg area, and now hosts significantly more than just housing the mansion and ponies.
