Small businesses leaders are invited to attend the Leesburg Economic Development Office’s next quarterly HUBZone business meeting Thursday, July 28.
The free meeting is planned for 6-8 p.m. at the Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church St. SE in downtown Leesburg.
The guest speaker is Mark Crowley, executive director of the HUBZone Contractors National Council. The council is a nonprofit trade association that provides information and support for companies and professionals interested in the Historically Underutilized Business Zone Contracting Program.
The HUBZone program helps small businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while also increasing employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Leesburg Economic Development Office has partnered with local business owners who have completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing meetings.
