Loudoun Water to Hold Meeting on Future Water Tower Near Brambleton

Loudoun Water will hold a community informational meeting about a planned water tower between the Grant at Willowsford and Greene Mill Preserve, off Red Hill Road, on Thursday, September 1.

According to Loudoun water’s project page, the 189-foot tall, million-gallon storage tank will serve area schools as well as  Evergreen Rural Village, Greene Mill Preserve, the Grove at Willowsford, Aldie Estates, Brambleton, Rockbridge, Evergreen Hamlets, the Grant at Willowsford, the Greens at Willowsford, Lenah Run Village, Huntleigh, and Lenah Mill. Construction traffic was scheduled to begin in August 2016, and Loudoun Water plans for final work to be completed and the tank put into service by April 2018.

The Board of Supervisors in November 2014 denied Loudoun Water’s request to build two water towers on the site, opting instead to allow only one.

Construction vehicles will access the site via Chambourcin Place. After construction, site access will be via Red Hill Road.

The informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 1, at Creighton’s Corner Elementary School, 23171 Minerva Drive, Ashburn.
