Redskins Kick Off Season with One Loudoun Pep Rally

The Washington Redskins have spent much of the summer at training camp in Richmond, but on Saturday area residents can get up close with the team and team leaders.

A pep rally is planned for the so far undefeated team from 3 to 6 p.m. at One Loudoun in Ashburn. The event will include live entertainment, family activities, and guest appearances by Redskins President Bruce Allen and broadcaster Larry Michael. Redskins alumni Gary Clark, Rick “Doc” Walker, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss and Clinton Portis are also scheduled to appear.

The Redskins cheerleaders will perform and give fans an opportunity to purchase the recently released 2016-17 cheerleader calendar and have it signed by members of the team.

Many One Loudoun businesses also will be offering giveaways and specials during the event.

“We are thrilled to host the Redskins Rally this year at One Loudoun,” said Julie Minor Dillon, vice president of Marketing for One Loudoun. “We look forward to being a part of the celebration and teaming with the Redskins and Hail & Hog Kitchen and Tap to make this a great event for the fans.”

This event is free to all fans. Free parking will be available in the One Loudoun parking garage and surrounding lots. Some roads will be closed during the event

Hail & Hog Kitchen and Tap will host the official after party beginning at 6 p.m., offering entertainment, food specials, cheerleader appearances and giveaways including game tickets.

The Redskins begin their 2016 campaign Monday night at home against the Pittsburg Steelers.
