The Loudoun County Fall Farm Tour will be held this weekend when more than 50 participating farms, wineries and farm breweries will be offering tours and special activities.
For the first time, organizers have created a mobile app to help visitors make the most the weekend.
The free, self-guided tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The app is designed for Apple and Google phones and tablets. Users can plan their visit in advance by making a list of must-see events and build an itinerary. The app also provides detailed descriptions of all the offerings and directions to get you around Loudoun’s rolling rural countryside. If a venue changes hours or closes, the app will provide those updates.
The app will have functionality after the tour. The Department of Economic Development plans use the platform to provide updates on the county’s holiday products buying guide, the Spring Farm Tour and other events.
For those who prefer the trusty maps, tour broshures can be picked up at county libraries, the Visit Loudoun office in Leesburg or downloaded it here.
