Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Rt. 7 Crash

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office investigators are on the scene of a fatal crash on Rt. 7 west of Leesburg.

The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. today near the Rt. 9 interchange.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A second driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Eastbound traffic is being detoured on Dry Mill Road. Motorists should expect significant delays in the area and are encouraged to find an alternate route.

The road is expected to be closed for several hours as investigators work to determine the cause of the crash.

    Work to determine what caused the crash? You kidding me? Don’t the sheriffs ever drive Rt 7? Not hard to determine what caused it. It is a wonder they aren’t removing dead people from the area of Rt 7 every single day.
