The Loudoun County government is supporting the Marine Corps’ annual Toys for Tots campaign this year by providing space for the donations to be stored and sorted.
Loudoun’s effort is led by Frank Holtz, who has coordinated the local Toys for Tots program since 2012. Last year, he was recognized by Toys for Tots as the regional Coordinator of the Year among seven states. In 2015, the Loudoun detachment distributed more than 23,000 toys.
Last week, Holtz and his wife, Rita Sartori, along with Toys for Tots volunteers, took possession of a county warehouse along Miller Drive in Leesburg. The space is scheduled for retrofitting in mid-January, and the county has allowed Toys for Tots to use the space over the holidays.
