Adult Education Artists Host Exhibit

Friends of Leesburg Public Arts is hosting an art exhibit at Dog Money Restaurant & Brewery tonight.

All of the artwork displayed is the work of participants in Paint a Masterpiece!, a six-week Loudoun County Public Schools adult education course. Most of the students were new to painting. Some had never held a brush before.

“The finished work from this group is excellent,” instructor Leanne Fink said. “Our class focused on copying works from the masters, beginning with abstracts of the avant garde movement and ending with complex impressionism. I truly loved watching their progress as artists over a six-week period.”

Director of Friends of Leesburg Public Arts, Donna Torraca, added, “Our organization is dedicated to fostering the growth of the arts in Leesburg. This type of pop-up exhibit fits our mission and is always fun to put on. I’m especially grateful to Tim Regan and Dean Lake, the owners of Dog Money Restaurant & Brewery, who made the space available for this show. Visitors will be amazed at the quality of work that these new artists have produced.”

The event is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 6, at Dog Money Restaurant & Brewery, 50 Catoctin Circle NE in Leesburg.
