Dickey’s Barbecue Pit announced today plans to open a new restaurant in Loudoun County.
The opening of the Texas-style barbecue eatery is planned next fall, but the location has not been finalized. The franchise will be owned by Chris Mills.
Founded by World War I veteran Travis Dickey in 1941, the family operation spread from its first Dallas location under the guidance of his sons starting in the 1960s. The fast-casual restaurant chain has expanded to more than 570 locations in 43 states.
Mills is a George Mason University graduate who worked in real estate and property management before deciding to jump in the restaurant field. “When researching franchising opportunities, Dickey’s ended up being the perfect fit for me,” Mills stated. “I have a passion for barbecue and I love having the opportunity to bring people together and Dickey’s is the perfect place to do that.”
