Leesburg’s Drone Restriction Bill Clears House

Asked by the Leesburg Town Council to support legislation that would restrict the use of drones to invade people’s privacy, Del. J. Randall Minchew (R-10) reached back to a 1930’s peeping-tom law for a model.

His bill outlaws anyone from knowingly and intentionally causing an electronic device to enter a someone else’s property of another to secretly or furtively peep or spy.

The bill passed the House on a 97-0 vote Tuesday.
