Kost Named Athlete of the Year at PSU Behrend

Former Stone Bridge High School swimming stand out, Nick Kost, capped his collegiate swimming career being named the Penn State Behrend Male Athlete of the Year.

Kost’s college career began by being named AMCC Conference Newcomer of the Year and Rookie of the Year at the Erie, PA, campus, setting a pool record in his very first collegiate swim in the 400 IM.

Kost continued to set pool, team and conference records during his four years, maintaining the conference champion title for his conference in the 400 and 200 IM all four years.  He also contributed to numerous team records in relays, representing PSB at regional invitationals and making NCAA Div. III national cuts in the 400 IM three years in a row.

Kost was named AMCC Conference Swimmer of the Year and his team’s MVP in 2016.

In addition to being the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year, he was awarded the PSB Swimming Sportsmanship/Leadership Award this year for his work over two years as team captain.

Kost will graduate in August with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He is the son of Carol and John Kost of Ashburn.
