Police Searching for Endangered Sterling Teen

Update: The Sheriff’s Office located the teen, who was safe, after the agency received a report of a suspicious person around 9:40 p.m. in the area of Gourley Transit Drive in Ashburn


The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing teenager who is considered endangered and possibly armed.

Andrew Rivera, 16, was reported missing Wednesday afternoon and was last seen around 9:30 a.m. after he left Park View High School on West Laurel Avenue in Sterling. He is believed to have left the area on foot.

Rivera is described as 5-feet, 9-inches tall, and weighing 265 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black shorts, black and teal Nike Air Jordan shoes, and a black T-shirt with a white picture with “System of a Down” on the front.

He reportedly made statements that he may harm himself and he may be in possession of a firearm.

Deputies are searching the area with the assistance of the Virginia State Police.
