A body was discovered today during the search of a Lucketts-area home that burned Tuesday night.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the incident.
Shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday crews from the Lucketts fire station were dispatched to Bald Hill Road near Steed Hill Lane after a passerby reported seeing smoke. They found a two-story, single-family home with fire on the first and second floors. Additional units from Lovettsville, Hamilton, Leesburg, Purcellville, and Frederick County, MD, were called to help. Fire operations continued throughout the night to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
Today, investigators were able to enter and search what remained of the home. At about 1 p.m., they discovered a body inside.
The Fatal Fire Task Force, with members of the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation.
