Bankruptcy Forces Hail and Hog Closure
Seven months after seeking bankruptcy protection, the Hail and Hog restaurant at One Loudoun closed this week.
Under pressure from Herman/Stewart Construction and Development, the contractor that completed the $5 million tenant buildout for the Washington Redskins-themed eatery in 2014, the bankruptcy case on Monday was converted from a restructuring to a liquidation.
Today, the doors are closed and the restaurant’s website is gone, along with its social media presence. Employees were notified Tuesday that operations would cease that day.
Herman/Stewart, which has submitted claims for more than $2 million in unpaid bills plus interest of more than $400 per day, filed the motion in July requesting the judge convert the case to a Chapter 7 liquidation.
