State Sen. Jennifer Wexton (D-33) announced Tuesday that she will hold a pair of town hall meetings as part of her campaign for the Democratic nomination in the 10th Congressional District.
“We’re now almost two weeks into Congress’ August recess and eight months into the calendar year. But our congresswoman, Barbara Comstock, still hasn’t held a public town hall even though constituents continue to ask her to,” Wexton said in a campaign video announcing the forums. “Since Barbara Comstock won’t face her constituents in an open forum, I’m doing it for her.”
The meeting will be held Saturday, Aug. 26 at Rust Library in Leesburg from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 31 at the Chantilly Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Democrats will choose their candidate for the November 2018 election during a primary next June. So far, there are seven other candidates, in addition to Wexton, vying for that nomination.
