Oct. 1 5K Fights Cancer in Canines, Kids

Two- and four-legged athletes are invited to help crush cancer at the inaugural Two by Four Race Against Childhood & Canine Cancer, held 8-11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Brambleton Town Center.

The Canines-N-Kids Foundation and Smashing Walnuts Foundation are partnering to host this timed 5K race and un-timed 1-mile dog jog/fun run.

Net proceeds will support the nonprofits’ work to raise funds and awareness for cutting edge research in the cancers that impact kids and dogs. The event will also feature an awards ceremony and vendor fair.

The 5K (human only) timed race costs $25 through Sept. 28, and $40 through race day. The 1-mile dog jog/fun run costs $20 through Sept. 28, $35 to race day.  Learn more and register at caninesnkids.org.
