The Sheriff’s Office has created a toll-free tip-line allowing area residents to anonymously report suspected narcotics activity.
Loudoun residents are encouraged to call 1-833-HOT-TIPS (1-833-468-8477) with any information regarding narcotics activity.
“Anonymity can be the key to getting drugs off of our streets or getting someone the help that they need,” said Sheriff Mike Chapman stated. “We want to give residents that outlet and make sure all suspected drug activity is reported.”
The effort grew from the regional Heroin Operations Team that was formed in 2015 to employ a comprehensive approach to combat the heroin epidemic, including enforcement, education, prevention and recovery.
So far this year, the agency reports that fatal heroin overdoses have decreased 27 percent in Loudoun County compared to this same time last year and non-fatal heroin related overdoses have decreased 14 percent.
