Letter: Sarah Moorehead, Leesburg

Editor: In a flier I received recently, Randy Minchew (VA 10th district) claims he is for ‘responsible and ethical government’ and bringing ‘more jobs’ and ‘economic growth’ to the region, but the legislative record states the opposite.

Minchew (and also relevant to this area, delegates Greason and La Rock) have repeatedly voted to block Medicaid expansion in Virginia; this has cost the state more than 1 billion dollars of federal support per year, and these policies have kept more than 400,000 Virginians off health insurance. To add insult to injury, the uninsured visit emergency rooms in disproportionate numbers and taxpayers foot the bill for that too. In other words, Minchew, Greason, and LaRock are wasting our tax dollars to wage what is essentially a war on affordable health care. These actions are clearly against the interests of most Virginians.

It’s time for a change in the House of Delegates, and I support Wendy Gooditis who promotes affordable health care and will bring our tax dollars back to Virginia.

Minchew cant point to a sin job he has brought to Leesburg. And his wife on the Leesburg BAR cost me time and money with her bad decisions. Both of them have been DISSERVING the public to long.

Why would I want to pay for your health care try earning it instead of being a drain on our safety net.
