Leesburg Business Policy Panel Presents Recommendations Monday

After a wide-ranging, six-month probe of challenges and opportunities facing the town’s business community, the Economic Development Steering Committee will present its final report to the Town Council on Monday.

The panel’s work resulted in a 105-page report that focuses on six key topic areas that repeatedly were raised as concerns during interviews with business and property owners over the summer. They are reforms to the town’s development review process, revising the regulations in the Crescent Design District, improving the town’s marketing and branding, adding hangars at Leesburg Executive Airport, increasing workforce housing, and increasing public parking.

The committee, led by Planning Commissioner Sharon Babbin and former planning commissioner Brett Burk, will present the report during the council’s work session, which starts at 7 p.m.
