Loudoun Hunger Collects, Gives Out 1,800 Thanksgiving Dinner Bags

Loudoun Hunger Relief relief this year collected 1,800 donated Thanksgiving dinner bags for needy families.

Each bag comes with a full Thanksgiving dinner—including stuffing mix, at least two cans of vegetables, boxed potatoes, gravy, cornbread or biscuit mix, cranberry sauce and a dessert mix or item. They also come with grocery store gifts cards that can go toward a turkey.

Loudoun Hunger gave the bags out to needy families on Saturday. Executive Director Jennifer Montgomery said she is grateful to the community for stepping up.

“For families that struggle all year round to put enough food on the table, the holidays can be especially tough,” Montgomery said. “Giving a family joy and a filling meal is something we can all be thankful for! That’s what Thanksgiving is about – sharing the bounty and harvest of the year.”
