Sterling Elementary Teacher Arrested for Public Intoxication

A Sterling Elementary School teacher was arrested Friday for public intoxication and having an open container of alcohol inside the school.

A Loudoun Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer was notified by school personnel shortly before 2 p.m. that a teacher at the school was possibly intoxicated. 

During the course of the investigation it was determined that second-grade teacher, Claire M. Bucher, 25, of Potomac Falls, was intoxicated and had alcohol in her possession while on school property.

Bucher was charged with drunk in public and possessing or drinking an alcoholic beverage in a public school or on public school grounds during school hours. She remains held until sober at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
