Letter: Fariborz S. Fatemi, McLean

Editor: Christmas miracles are happening and it is not even Christmas yet. Representative Comstock, the Republican who, as a delegate, voted to have women undergo transvaginal ultrasound, is now the champion of fighting harassment against women. The same Republican Comstock, who again voted as a delegate against transportation funding desperately needed in her district, is now championing transportation funding. Is this real?

A redemption of ignorance? Or just an election on the horizon? Perhaps it is just plain old-fashioned subterfuge at which Republican Comstock is very accomplished. That is, to hide her vote for the Republican budget that will add close to $2 trillion to the deficit, with the potential to gut Social Security and Medicare. And, her vote for the Republican tax scheme, that according to New York Times’ analysis, will hurt a large group of taxpayers in her district.

One thing for sure, the voters are watching her carefully.
