The Town of Leesburg has revised its schedule for picking up discarded Christmas trees for recycling.
The town’s trash collection contractor, ESI, was expected to collect live Christmas trees on Wednesday, Jan. 3, as well as next Wednesday, Jan. 10, in all quadrants of the town. This is a change from the schedule previously published last week.
After Jan. 10, town crews will collect live trees during brush collection, as long as tree trunks are less than six inches in diameter. Trees must be placed at the curb by Sunday evenings for collection that week. All items must be removed from the trees before being placed at the curb.
