Loudoun’s State Delegation Plans Public Hearing Sunday

The Loudoun County delegation to the Virginia General Assembly will host a public hearing for Loudoun residents on Sunday, Jan. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. The hearing will be at the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. SE in Leesburg.

As of Jan 2., nine of Loudoun’s 11 state representatives will be attending: Sens. Richard H. Black (R-13), Barbara A. Favola (D-31), and Jennifer T. Wexton (D-33); Dels. Kathleen Murphy (D-34), Jennifer B. Boysko (D-86), John J. Bell (D-87); and delegates-elect Wendy Gooditis (D-10), David Reid (D-32), and Karrie Delaney (D-67).

Online requests to speak during the public hearing must be completed by 10 a.m. on Jan. 7 to ensure a place on the list. You can sign up by calling 703-672-3696 or emailing district33@senate.virginia.gov before noon on Jan. 7 to be placed on the speaking list. The first 75 people to sign up will be guaranteed a speaking slot during the hearing.

Individual speakers will be given a maximum of two and a half minutes to speak. Speakers representing a group will be allotted five minutes to split between two speakers. Please specify the name of the group or association represented. If you are not representing a group or association, type “individual.”

Those wishing to distribute materials to the delegation are asked to bring at least 12 copies.
