Middleburg Community Charter School’s anti-bullying video has been named the grand prize winner for the 2017 BullyBust campaign.
The nationwide campaign was sponsored by “WICKED the Musical” and the National School Climate Center. Members of the charter school, the Creative Dance Center, Middleburg Police Department and the Middleburg Fire Department joined forces to work on the video. It was produced and directed by MCCS board member and parent Richa Badami.

“It felt like an incredible opportunity to shine the spotlight on the very serious issue of bullying in schools,” Badami said. “I had a sense of what the video could be, but through working with the kids, the power and essence of the message lifted up and off the screen, exceeding my expectations.”
As part of the grand prize, a cast member from WICKED will visit the charter school to learn more about its anti-bullying efforts and give students insight into the world of a Broadway performer. The school’s award-winning video will be broadcasted on WICKED’s and BullyBust’s social media pages.
