Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with robberies at a Sterling shopping center just before Christmas.
The Sheriff’s Office issued an alert Dec. 23 after deputies were called to the 22300 block of South Sterling Boulevard where a witness reported seeing several men involved in an altercation, possibly involving a weapon. They determined man and his son were leaving a business when they were confronted by two suspects in a parking lot. One of the attackers threatened them with a weapon, possibly a box cutter, and demanded cash. When the child screamed, the suspects fled. Deputies learned earlier, a teenager in the area was confronted by the same suspects. In That case, one may have displayed a firearm in his waistband and demanded money. They took a small amount of cash from the victim.
Today, the Sheriff’s Office announced that Jordan K. McNally, 18, of Herndon, and a juvenile from Centreville were apprehended Jan. 12. They are charged with robbery and attempted robbery. McNally is additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They remain in custody.
