The main indoor pool at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center is expected to reopen Wednesday, March 7 after crews repair a leak that drained the 300,000-gallon pool in a day.
The leak was discovered Feb. 7. Repair crews determined that the cause was a junction box under the pool’s floor that became detached. The town will replace that piece and, to be safe, two others like it before refilling the pool.
Some of the recreation center’s aquatics classes and programs were moved to the auxiliary pool and some were canceled, with refunds issued.
