Leesburg Mural Dedication Planned Saturday

Mayor Kelly Burk and members of the Town Council will preside over a dedication ceremony Saturday for a mural in memory of arts advocate Gale Waldron.

The Waldon mural will be located on the east façade of the Town Hall parking garage. The unveiling and dedication ceremony will take place in Mervin Jackson Park. The alley along the east side of the parking garage will be closed temporarily to traffic beginning at the start of the ceremony, 10 a.m.

The mural is a privately funded gift to the Town of Leesburg, given in memory of Waldron, who founded Gallery 222 and the Loudoun Academy of the Arts Foundation, among her many accomplishments. Waldron passed away in January.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in the lower level of Town Hall.
