Loudoun Now: When asked at a party “what do you do,” how do you answer? And what do you really do?

Ask: I keep it simple and tell people I own a business. I am really the owner of Club Pilates Ashburn where we offer eight different types of reformer-based classes from entry to expert level every day of the week. Reformer-based classes provide a full-body, low-impact workout that lengthens and strengthens muscles simultaneously. Pure to Joseph Pilates’ original Reformer-based Contrology Method, but modernized with group practice and expanded state-of-the-art equipment, Club Pilates Ashburn offers high-quality, life-changing training at a surprisingly affordable price. We believe that Pilates is the path to a fuller, more satisfying physical existence. Also, we believe that being in control of your body helps you to be in control of your life. And best of all, we believe that you can start anytime. That is why our motto is Do Pilates. Do Life.

LN: Do you have a networking magic story?

Ask: Networking is something that I consistently keep working on to perfect. I make sure I enter each event with intention and a goal. When I started my business, I knew no one in Loudoun County until I got involved with the Chamber. For almost two years I went to every Chamber networking event I could promoting Club Pilates Ashburn. I made sure to find those strong connections to help build and grow my business. So, I guess the magic is to keep grinding away with purpose until your business becomes relevant in people’s minds!

LN: For those who are not yet Chamber members but are curious, what are the best two or three events during the year to check out?

Ask: Definitely go to the Business Showcase Breakfast and After-Hours Mixer & New Member Reception. It is the best way to get introductions to a wide variety of businesses that you might be able to connect with and build a relationship.

LN: What was your first job, and what do you hope will be your last job?

Ask: My first job was mowing lawns as a kid.  I started a little monopoly on my street mowing all of my neighbor’s lawns, so I could buy a mountain bike.  When it is time to retire I hope to say my last job is an owner of multiple businesses.

LN: What’s the most fun you’ve had at a Chamber event?

Ask: The most fun I have had at a Chamber event would have to be the Golf Classic at Creighton Farms. Club Pilates Ashburn was the drink sponsor where everyone had to stop by our tent to grab a beverage. We had a lot of fun handing out swag and making more connections spreading the word on how Pilates can help your golf game.
