Fireman’s Field Hosts Pitch, Hit and Run Competition on Sunday

The Pitch, Hit and Run official Skills competition of Major League Baseball will be held Sunday, April 15 at Fireman’s Field in Purcellville.

The competition is open to boys and girls ages 7-14, Participation is free. The event starts at 1:30 p.m.

There are separate divisions for baseball and softball. Participants may compete in either division in one of four age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14.

The top performers from the Purcellville competition will advance to the sectional level and have a chance to go all the way to the national finals, which will be held during this year’s All-Star game week at Nationals Park.
