Free Bus Rides to Metro Stops Start Monday

Between April 16 until June 2, Loudouners will ride for free on all Loudoun County Transit bus services that provide connections to Metrorail stations.

The Metro Connection services includes routes traveling from Loudoun County to the Silver Line’s Wiehle-Reston East station and the Orange Line’s West Falls Church station.

Bus routes traveling to Wiehle-Reston East include all day, Local Fixed-Routes 72, 83, 84 and peak period routes 87X, 88X, 921/922, 923/924, 925/926, 927/928, and 990-993. Bus routes 901/902 travel from Loudoun County to the West Falls Church Metrorail station.

The free bus rides are the first of the ISHARE66 Commuter Incentives designed to reduce traffic congestion and promote alternative modes of transportation through the Interstate 66 corridor. The incentives are funded through the I-66 Commuter Choice Program, which is a partnership between the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission—of which Loudoun is a member—and the state govenment.

Loudoun County will announce additional incentives for new carpools, new vanpools and new commuter bus riders in the coming weeks.
