Suspect Arrested in Ashburn Shooting

A 27-year-old Centreville man faces three felony charges after a Sunday morning shooting in Ashburn.

Charles A. Forbes, 27, was taken into custody Monday by the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in Prince William County. He  is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation began when a man who had been shot was dropped off by acquaintances at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne on Sunday morning. The acquaintances attempted to leave the area but were located nearby, according to the report.

The victim was being treated for injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting is believed to have occurred inside a residence in the 43500 block of Dunhill Cup Square shortly before 5 a.m. April 22.

According to the early investigation, it appears the victim and the suspect are known to each other.
