Update: 2 Killed in Early Morning Sterling Shooting; Suspect Charged

A 34-year-old Alexandria man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder following an early morning shooting at a hookah bar in Sterling.

Around 1:45 a.m. Monday morning, deputies we called to the Pharaoh Café located on Old Ox Road near the Town of Herndon border for a report of a shooting. Two victims, both described as being their 30s, were found dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released, pending notification to family members.

The suspect, Hassan M. Gailani, was apprehended in his vehicle by deputies responding to the scene as he attempted to leave the area.

Gailani is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

A conviction of first-degree murder carries a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.
