Letter: Fariborz S. Fatemi, McLean

Editor:  Most will remember the song “June is Bustin’ Out all Over.” This reminds me of Rep. Comstock’s yard signs put out by her sycophants that sprout up like mushrooms every two years near election time. A shameless attempt by her to show presence though she has been a public no-show for most of her term.

Comstock’s tenure has been a virtual representation rather than real. One with staged phone calls and newsletters and postcards at taxpayers’ expense. No town halls, no public appearances to explain her votes, solicit advice or explain her contributions from the gun lobby and the virulent John Bolton. Explain her votes in support of the Republican tax scheme that benefits her rich contributors. A tax scheme that hurts most of her constituents by its capping of state and property tax deductions and adds close to $2 trillion to the deficit. Further, explain her tea party votes that are anti-women’s health rights, anti-federal workers and anti-immigrants, all her constituents, to name a few. A word of advice to the Congresswoman.

If you want your contract renewed before it is revoked by the voters, come out of the shadows, get real and explain why you deserve our votes.
