It’s Campaign Kickoff Weekend in Leesburg

The weekend may serve as the unofficial start to election season in Leesburg, as three campaign kick-offs are planned.

Neil Steinberg is holding his event on Saturday, June 23, from 2-4 p.m. at the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts Academy at 9 Cardinal Park Dr. It’s Steinberg’s second time on a Town Council ballot, as he was the runner-up in February’s special election. Councilman Marty Martinez’s kickoff originally planned for Saturday, June 23, has been postponed due to expected inclement weather.

Steinberg and Martinez are two of the five candidates running for one of three Town Council seats. They are joined by incumbents Vice Mayor Suzanne Fox and Councilwoman Vanessa Maddox, and first-time candidate Kari Nacy.

Councilman Ron Campbell will hold his kickoff on Sunday, June 24, from 2-4 p.m. at Delirium Café USA, located at 101 S. King St. The first-term council member is running for the mayor’s seat against incumbent Kelly Burk and fellow challenger Councilman Tom Dunn.
