Loudoun Wineries Raise Money for Maryland Flood Victims

After seeing the dramatic images of the Ellicott City Maryland flood, Sunset Hills and 50 West Vineyards owners Mike and Diane Canney decided they had to do something.

The Canneys decided to donate 100 percent of their sales of two of their most popular handcrafted rose wines while personally matching the funds raised. Their generous customers did not let them down. Their donation of $6,200 will be used to provide resources to small local nonprofits to help so many still in need. Hundreds of families lost their personal belongings, cars, and became homeless that day. The donation was made possible with the help of Beverly White-Seals, president of the Community Foundation of Howard County.

Sunset Hills and 50 West Vineyards want to thank their customers and amazing volunteers like White-Seals who are working toward the greater good. The flood happened just over a month ago and donations can still be made to the effort through the Community Foundation of Howard County.
