Weekend Holiday Event Highlights

Looking for something festive to do this weekend? There is no shortage of events. Here’s a selection:

Holiday Joy & Jazz

This festive evening of gospel and holiday favorites features Felicia Crawley and Voices of Worship, Brian Cunningham and Beverly Cosham. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Dinner is available for an additional $15 and must be ordered in advance.

‘One Starry Night’ at Ashburn Presbyterian

Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-12, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Ashburn Presbyterian Church, 20962 Ashburn Road, Ashburn. Contact: 703-729-2012

The church will transform into a scene from Bethlehem, with more than 80 costumed biblical characters, live animals, a nativity scene, toy-making in the wood shop and other kids’ activities. Admission is free.

Between the Hills Breakfast with Santa

Spend quality time with Santa and enjoy a delicious menu of eggs, sausage, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, French toast, coffee cake and fruit. Donations accepted.

Breakfast with Santa at West Belmont Place

This special morning with Santa features a keepsake family photo and a kid-friendly breakfast. Tickets are $19 for adults and children 13 and older, and $13 for children 3- 12. Children 2 and younger are free with a paying adult. New, unwrapped toys will also be collected at the event for the Salvation Army.

Smokehouse Live Breakfast with Santa

Saturday Dec. 12, 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., Smokehouse Live, Village at Leesburg. Contact: 571-447-5483

Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and get a photo and souvenir. Admission is $15 per person; free for children 4 and younger. Reservations are required.

Christmas in Hillsboro Craft Fair and Festival

Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 13, noon-4 p.m., Hillsboro Old Stone School, Hillsboro. Contact: oldstoneschool.org

Event features an indoor craft fair, outdoor activities and caroling. Community tree lighting takes place Saturday at 7 p.m. Sunday features a production of Big Bad Drama Company’s “A Little Bit of Christmas” at 6 p.m. Admission is a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.

Waterford Winterfest Homes Tour and Craft Market

Saturday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Waterford. Contact: waterfordfoundation.org

Waterford becomes a winter wonderland with carolers, handmade crafts and home tours; tours are Saturday only. Entrants to the shopping venues are free and open to the public both days. Tickets for the home tours are $20. A special candlelight tour of the homes is available Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. for $30.

VSA Arts Workshop: Seasons Greetings

Sounds of Christmas Downtown

This big day in Leesburg includes carriage rides, live music and holiday carolers, and cookie decorating with St. Nick make downtown Leesburg the place to be this holiday season.

Purcellville Christmas Parade

Saturday, Dec. 12, noon; Main Street, Purcellville. Details: purcellvilleva.com

Join the crowds lining Main Street to view marching bands, floats and strolling Santa and Mrs. Claus. The parade starts as North 21st Street and ends at Loudoun Valley High School.

Leesburg Christmas and Holiday Parade

Saturday, Dec. 12, 6 p.m., King Street, Leesburg. Details: leesburgva.gov

Leesburg’s annual parade will usher Santa and his friends down King Street from Ida Lee Drive to Fairfax Street.

Master Singers of Virginia Lessons and Carols

Saturday, Dec. 12, 7 p.m.; Our Savior’s Way Church, 43115 Waxpool Road and Sunday, Dec. 13, 5 p.m.; Trinity Episcopal, 9108 John S. Mosby Highway, Upperville. Details: msva.org

Enjoy traditional holiday favorites from Loudoun’s premier a cappella singing ensemble. A lecture on the music takes place 45 minutes before each program and a festive reception immediately follows. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students ages 6-17.

AVFRD Breakfast with Santa

Enjoy a visit with Santa and a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs and breakfast meats from Ashburn Fire and Rescue. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children 3-8 and free for children 2 and younger.

International Tuba Christmas Concert

This holiday tradition brings tuba players from around the area together to play Christmas favorites.
